Indian Lake (Logan County) – Saugeye are being caught along south bank, and around the Moundwood and Dream Bridge areas, try crankbaits and worm harnesses trolled near the bottom, jigging has also been effective. Anglers are catching largemouth bass in the canals around cover, try spinner baits, tubes, and crankbaits. Bluegills are still being caught in the channels, use wax worms, night crawlers or crickets.

Knox Lake (Knox County) – Largemouth bass are being caught at this 481 acre lake in Knox County. Target shoreline cover and the stump field in the east end of the lake using spinner baits, plastics, and crankbaits. Largemouth bass must be 18 inches or longer to harvest. Channel catfish are biting on prepared baits and night crawlers, night is the best time. The crappie bite will increase as water temperatures decrease, use minnows and jigs around woody cover. Outboard motors greater than 10 horsepower must move at idle speeds with no wake.

Buckeye Lake (Fairfield, Licking, and Perry Counties) – As water temperatures start to cool hybrid striped bass will become more active. Try chicken livers fished on the bottom or troll spinners along the north shore from Seller’s point to the north boat ramp at St. Rt. 79. Channel catfish are being taken right now using cut bait on the bottom. Crappies from 10 to 13 inches are becoming active, use minnows and jigs around points especially in the east half of the lake.

O’Shaughnessy Reservoir (Delaware County) – This 912 acre reservoir north of Columbus is a good place to catch largemouth bass, and channel catfish. For largemouth bass try tubes, spinner baits and crankbaits around shoreline cover, target drop offs and points. Channel catfish can be caught on cut baits, night crawlers, and shrimp fished on the bottom. Crappies will move shallower as water temperatures decrease; try fishing around woody cover using minnows and jigs.
