Knots To You!

A line is rope that is being used on a boat. A boater doesn't "throw a rope". Using nautical terms, a boater "heaves a line". Lines protect people and boats.

Bowline Knot
The handiest of knots, use it whenever an eye or loop is needed. You can use it for a wide variety of purposes. The bowline will not slip or jam easily. It is the best knot to use for securing a heavy line to the end of a tow line.

Tying a line to a cleat.
This knot is used to help secure your boat.
1. Wrap the line around the cleat,
2. then loop the line in a figure eight pattern 2 or 3 times
and 3. secure the end under the last loop.
